It's the first week back and schools and staff have taken to twitter to shout about all the inspiring things they've been up to and they haven't gone unnoticed! There have been so many tweets, from classrooms transformed into rain forests to staff receiving wellbeing packs, and we wanted to shine a spotlight on some of the best things we've seen.

So here's our top 10 ways schools have welcomed back staff, pupils and parents...

1. Team bonding

We'll kick things off with this team bonding day for the staff at Parklands Primary school in Leicester. This included, bowling, a 3- course meal and laser tag, sounds like a great start to to the new academic year! @ParklandsLeeds

2. INSET day treats

Moving forward to INSET day, there were treats for staff at New Wave Federation school. A lovely welcome back gesture for the team. @NewWaveEd

3. New school puppy

Meet the new addition to Camberwell park school ... Dora the dog! Dora's the new school therapy dog and is a miniature labradoodle. This pup lives with the headteacher, Mary Isherwood and will be in school every day. @CamberwellPark

4. Staff gift bags

Staff were greeted with goodie bags and personal welcome cards on arrival at Aureus School this week. The gift bags were symbols for their trust mission statement: Grow, Learn, Flourish.

Grow was a pot & some seeds ?

Learn was a book by Dr Neil Hawkes about values-based education ?

Flourish was a candle to symbolise wellbeing/ light/ hope ☀️ ?

5. Wellbeing packs

In a similar way, Eva, head of geography at her school made individual wellbeing packs for her faculty. 'In case of disaster' treats and chocolate coconut flavoured green tea might come in handy later in the year...

6. Classroom decorations

There were so many decorated classrooms it was difficult to choose! But the NQTs from the University of Greenwich Initial Teacher Education Partnership have done an amazing job in their first classrooms. @UoGPrimary

8. Pupil pictures

Proud parents have been taking photos of their little ones heading to school for the first time, including our very own Nicola from The Key. Here's her daughter Dulcie - just about to head through the school gates.

9.  Calendar of birthdays

Miss K is a year 7 form tutor and has made this brilliant birthday calendar for all her pupils.@niftyhistorian

10. Meme display board

We also loved this 'things to re"meme"ber' display from Miss K which as the name suggests - is entirely made from memes! This is now available on TES for free and has already gone viral...
