Tuesday 28th April, 2020: The Key, the leading provider of information and resources for education leaders, has today announced the acquisition of GovernorHub. GovernorHub provides 100,000 school governors and trustees, at 8,000 schools, a tool to communicate, share documents and access the information they need to support schools.

The acquisition brings together the best online tool for running governing boards with The Key’s up-to-date policy and governance content.  The combined company will be able to offer better support to governors, whether they are in their first year of understanding the role, chairing a committee or chairing the full governing body.

“The GovernorHub team has built the best platform available for governors to collaborate and support schools. GovernorHub deeply compliments our mission to give schools leaders the tools and knowledge to act at their point of need.” said Chris Kenyon, Chief Executive Officer, The Key. “Good governance matters and both organisations are committed to providing tools that support governors, clerks and governor services teams across the UK. ’’

Neil Collins, Director and Founder, GovernorHub said: “GovernorHub has grown dramatically over the last seven years, working with governors and clerks through our close partnerships with local authorities, MATs and clerking services. By being part of The Key, we have the opportunity to build further on those partnerships, innovate faster and do even more to support governors and clerks across the country.”

Following the acquisition, GovernorHub will continue to be available as a stand alone product for Local Authorities, trusts and individual schools.
