Question of the holidays: safeguarding issues

Is there a summary of the safeguarding issues listed in the statutory guidance?

We answered this question on 18 December and continued receiving new questions from school leaders throughout the holidays.

One of our researchers created a downloadable KeyDoc summarising key information about the issues identified in the Department for Education’s safeguarding guidance, including child sexual exploitation, domestic violence, FGM, mental health problems, radicalisation and sexting.

It looks at how you may spot signs of problems and suggests actions you may take, and is designed to be used as a handout for your staff.

I hope this resource helps raise awareness, and helps people working in schools feel better equipped to identify problems and protect children from harm.

Members of our school leader service can download the document, and read our full response here.
