HR Manager

Are you looking for an HR role in a fast-growing business where people are at the heart of everything we do? Would you like to work within a socially conscious organisation that is making a real impact in the education sector?

The Key is looking for an experienced HR generalist to join its small and friendly HR team. Our mission is to make The Key a great place to work by providing effective and down to earth HR support to our talented and growing team of 150 employees. As a natural people person, you will lead recruitment campaigns, advise on employee relations issues, manage payroll and report on trends and insights from our people data. Ultimately helping us to attract and retain the very best people to work at The Key.

This is a new role with the chance to make it your own – you will be our first HR team member to be based in our Lincoln office, with the ScholarPack team. In June 2018 The Key acquired ScholarPack; a cloud-based MIS provider for primary schools. Since partnering with The Key in June 2018 we have been working together to provide even more value to education leaders.

Your main duties will include:

  • Recruitment: working with hiring managers to run the end to end recruitment process, from designing the selection process, advertising roles on job boards and social media to scheduling interviews, preparing interview packs and communicating with candidates
  • Employee relations: providing support and advice to line managers and team members
  • Payroll administration: collating all payroll changes and working with our finance team to ensure everyone is paid correctly
  • Reporting: on trends and insights from our people data
  • Induction and training: working with the Head of HR and managers to plan and deliver training and induction
  • Employee wellbeing and benefits: overseeing our benefits and looking for opportunities to improve employee wellbeing

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a solid understanding of HR practices and processes, particularly in recruitment, employee relations and payroll, with 3-5 years’ experience in HR
  • Be a natural ‘people person’, with excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Have strong administration skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Have excellent time-management skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise and multi-task efficiently
  • Be a good team player with a strong work ethic and sense of shared responsibility for achieving team goals
  • Have experience working with senior stakeholders
  • Have an interest in the education sector

Job type: full-time, permanent

Location: Lincoln

Salary: £28,000 to £35,000 based on experience
