Management Accountant/Revenue Manager

The role

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our small and friendly finance team. This role will be responsible for the Group’s revenue management and billing process. You will also lead the Group’s monthly financial close process, preparing monthly consolidated management accounts. By supporting key business partners and other senior members of the finance team you will deliver accurate financial information & analysis

This is a 16-18 month, fixed-term contract.

You will be responsible for:

  • Recommending and implementing Group billing process improvements – seeking to automate and optimise scale wherever possible
  • Monthly production of Group management accounts – including posting journals, balance sheet reconciliations, analysis on P&L etc
  • Preparation of, and recommending improvement to, monthly financial & KPI reporting – providing commentary on key variances
  • Support budget holders by providing regular reporting & insight
  • Manage cash flow reporting & forecasting
  • Support annual budget and monthly forecasting process
  • Support external audit process & the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Ad-hoc analysis

The ideal person

You will:

  • Be part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent with at least 2 years’ experience in a finance department
  • Be an analytical thinker & have commercial acumen
  • Be a self starter, proactive & diligent
  • Be great at building relationships and stakeholder management
  • Have strong excel skills
  • Have an interest in the education sector

It would be nice if you:

  • Have experience with billing automation & process improvement experience desired but not essential
  • Have experience in a subscription business desired but not essential

Lead Content Designer/Writer

The role

We are looking for a content designer to join our content team. Your job is to design and create a programme of practical information to help academy trust leaders to run their trusts effectively. You will:

  • Carry out needs analysis, spending time with trust leaders to understand their problems, developing your user research skills with the support of our user research team
  • Solve user needs with great content, scoping, commissioning and creating highly practical, digital content. You’ll decide on the best way to deliver information to help your users move forward quickly
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with subject matter experts in schools, central trust teams and beyond
  • Work closely with our marketing team, to distribute content to your users at the critical point in time 
  • Analyse the performance of content and tools, working with our digital team to understand user behaviour
  • Iterate and improve our content, based on user feedback.
  • Work in an agile environment. You’ll deliver content on-time, in-full and respond to changing deadlines and priorities 

The ideal person

You will:

  • Have extensive experience of writing digital content, with proven ability to create content that is accessible and usable 
  • Have a deep understanding of the schools sector and a demonstrable appetite to learn more. Awareness of the academy trust sector is a considerable advantage
  • Have excellent data-driven and creative instincts, with an entrepreneurial mindset 
  • Have ahighly collaborative nature and ability to take feedback

It would be nice if you:

  • Have proven experience in content performance metrics and using feedback to improve content
  • Have experience of managing a high-quality service 
  • Have the ability to play a leading role in developing and sustaining a creative and committed team culture

Content Writer

The role

The Key is looking for a creative individual with strong writing skills to join us as a digital content writer for our market-leading support services. As a digital content writer you will research, write and maintain practical and engaging content of exceptional quality to meet the needs of school leaders, governors and leaders of multi-academy trusts. You will draw on expertise from trustworthy external sources, from both the education sector and outside it, and quickly develop specialist knowledge of the sector.

You will:

  • Support lead content editors with a strong pipeline of content ideas based on a clear understanding of user needs, and intelligent decision making
  • Research and write about a range of topics, combining rigorous desk research with trustworthy external sources and internal expertise
  • Produce content in varied forms, according to our content roadmap, and in response to questions from school leaders and governors, following agreed deadlines – on time and in full
  • Develop and maintain specialised sector knowledge, and using this knowledge to make sure content is kept up to date, as well as spotting opportunities to add value
  • Triage incoming questions from our members, and determining when to write new content
  • Carry out user research, as appropriate, to better understand members’ needs and how they use our content
  • Use qualitative and quantitative feedback insights to adapt both content and our approach to ensure our content is as practical and actionable as possible

The ideal person

You will:

  • Have first-class research and writing skills 
  • Have strong editorial judgement and a record of excellent decision-making
  • Have a creative spark and strong commercial intuition
  • Have an interest in the education sector and a strong focus on professional learning

It would be nice if you:

  • Have a proven ability to hunt down sources and information
  • Are able to collate and respond to findings, usage trends and user feedback
