Product Designer

The role

We are looking for an experienced product designer to join our design team at this exciting time, as we work to set a new bar for user experience and visual design in the education sector. As a product designer you will be getting close to users, crafting amazing user experiences and bringing them to life across all of The Key’s products and services, positively impacting the work of hundreds of thousands of school leaders. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Solving real world problems, across all of our products and services.
  • Taking ownership of your designs. From low-fidelity prototypes to the nitty-gritty details,  you’ll be the one in the driving seat, taking the initiative, consulting with others, making decisions and pushing our products’ designs forwards.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively and working closely with colleagues, both within the design team and across the wider business.

The ideal person

You will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in Product Design (UX/UI) roles, with a strong portfolio.
  • A passion for creating beautifully designed solutions that simplify complexity and help to create products that are a delight to use.
  • A love of writing – design is as much about the words on the page as it is about stunning visuals.
  • Collaboration in your bones. We work with a lot of different, talented and fascinating people, be they customers or colleagues.
  • Conscientiousness. You’re excellent at organising yourself and coordinating projects involving multiple people, both locally and remotely.
  • Experience working with Software Engineers to ensure the delivery of delightful, well designed solutions that achieve desired outcomes.
  • Attention to detail. The quality of products comes through in the little things that simplify, delight or just make the user’s life that little bit better.
  • Perseverance, as, unfortunately we can’t promise that things will always go 100% swimmingly.
  • Oodles of curiosity. Because life isn’t fun if you’re not continuously learning.

It would be nice if you have:

  • Experience of working within the education sector
  • Knowledge of front-end development – e.g. HTML/CSS

Finance Analyst

The role

We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join our growing finance team. You will work closely with the wider finance and commercial teams across the Group, to support the production of timely insightful management information to monitor performance, reduce risk and support decision-making. You will: 

  • Assist with the consolidation of Group monthly financial results & reporting packs (to include Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow)
  • Work closely with teams around the business to generate and improve reporting & insights and continually improve existing processes
  • Analyse deviations from forecasts/budget
  • Assist with the review of financial results to identify risks and opportunities within the business that merit further analysis or action.
  • Support annual budgeting process
  • Support in the preparation & presentation of financial analysis for new business cases and initiatives
  • Work closely with BI to drive accurate and seamless KPI reporting

The ideal person

You will: 

  • Have 1-2 years’ finance experience (FP&A/reporting/commercial finance)
  • Have intermediate Excel skills
  • Have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Be naturally inquisitive, and take the initiative to dive in to things when you spot things don’t look right or could be improved 
  • Be able to dive into the detail of large data sets from different sources, spot emerging trends of risk or opportunity
  • Be able to work collaboratively across various businesses & teams
  • Be able to prioritise & manage stakeholders expectations 
  • Be a self-starter

It would be nice if you:

  • Are studying towards CIMA/ACA/ACCA/ACMA or a similar professional accounting qualification

We are looking for a driven, creative individual who wants to build their career in marketing and join our growing marketing team.  You will play a crucial role in developing and executing imaginate campaigns that win the hearts and minds of our audience and engage school leaders across all marketing channels.

This is a new role supporting our star product, The Key for School Leaders, used by over half of all schools across the country, so you will have the scope to make it your own. As we reimagine the service for school and trust leaders, we’re growing the team so we can reach more schools and communicate the unique value this product brings to them.

You will:

  • Develop and execute imaginative and impactful customer acquisition campaigns together with the Product Marketing Manager
  • Develop powerful campaign messaging
  • Plan and execute email acquisition and engagement campaigns that drive action
  • Work with the digital marketing team to optimise our digital campaigns as well as test new tactics and approaches
  • Together with the Senior eCRM Manager monitor our automated lifecycle campaigns and suggest improvements to the product marketers
  • Provide ad hoc support for direct mail campaigns and webinars to the wider team

Accounts Assistant

The role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our growing finance team. As an accounts assistant, you will work closely with the P2P & Payroll manager to deliver on P2P, payroll, company purchasing and month-end related tasks across the group. You will also help to develop and improve systems and processes with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement. You will: 

  • Be responsible for all aspects of purchase ledger, employee expenses, payment runs and reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards. This includes ensuring that invoices have proper budget holder review and sign off, and are processed with accuracy.  
  • Assist the P2P & Payroll Manager with processes around month-end, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Be responsible for company purchasing and tracking software spend to budget.
  • Support the P2P & Payroll Manager to choose and implement cloud systems to automate suppliers and expenses processes, along with continually reviewing and improving processes.

The ideal person

You will:

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Have good IT skills including proficient use of Microsoft Excel & Google Sheets
  • Have previous experience of using cloud based accounting packages
  • Be able to learn quickly and adapt to (often complex) in-house systems and specialist applications
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Have an organised and methodical approach to working and be able to work to deadlines

The role is fast paced and constantly evolving so being tenacious and able to adapt and change your approach will be critical to success.

It would be nice if you:

  • Have knowledge of Xero, Quickbooks Online and Netsuite
  • Are AAT qualified or equivalent or experienced at a similar level
  • Have previous knowledge of Spendesk or a similar system 
  • Have experience working in a subscription business
  • Have an interest in/ experience of working in the education or public sector.

You will: 

  • Deliver multiple email campaigns across a variety of products
  • Create and maintain a series of automated journeys using workflows
  • Use dashboards and software to optimise on-site content for SEO and oversee budget spend on paid media streams.
  • Support on content marketing efforts, including basic editing of imagery and podcast audio files
  • Make edits to our product and brand websites using various CMS systems

You will:

  • Have at least 1-2 years’ experience working in digital marketing, ideally in a B2B setting
  • Have experience of using a marketing automation platform e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Hubspot

  • Have familiarity of managing small-scale SEO and/or PPC campaigns

As a content writer you will research, write and maintain practical and engaging articles and design and create training content to meet the needs of school governors, academy trustees and other school leaders. You will:

  • Support lead content editors with a strong pipeline of content ideas based on a clear understanding of user needs, and intelligent decision making
  • Carry out user research, as appropriate, to better understand members’ needs and how they use our products
  • Research and write authoritative and practical articles to address the wide range of issues faced in schools today, combining rigorous desk research with use of authoritative sources from inside and outside the education sector, and internal expertise
  • Develop and write practical, bitesize training content for a variety of governance roles, leaning on multimedia content where relevant

You will:
