What’s been happening recently in the school sector?

Members of our school governor service can read our answer here, which is updated every week.

We summarise education-related headlines of the moment, including a story on the aftermath of the Trojan Horse affair in Birmingham, and a recent survey that  found four out of five adults want schools to do more to educate pupils about the effects and causes of racism.

I was interested to see that a number of options are being considered for those schools affected by 'Trojan Horse', including the setting up of a new independent learning trust or trusts, or the introduction of ‘superheads’. I wonder whether wider questions on the state of school governance and the effective oversight of schools will continue to be posed as this story unravels.
