Over the summer break, many school leaders were already working hard to get ready for the new academic year. More than 10% of the members of our school leader service were logged into the website and reading our articles during August.

This Wordle shows the 100 most common search terms during the holidays. Many school leaders were searching for information about the SEND reforms ahead of the new Code of Practice coming into force in September. They were also preparing for life after levels, with “assessment without levels” much higher up the rankings than in previous months.

With a plenty of new teachers starting out in their roles, it’s also no surprise that many people were searching for examples of what to include in their staff handbook.
