I’m delighted to share that iAM Compliant is joining The Key today - and to welcome the brilliant team behind the platform, as well as the 3,500 schools and trusts they work with.
This is a really exciting step for both organisations. iAM Compliant brings a specialist estates and compliance platform, deep sector expertise and a team that shares our ambition to transform the way schools and trusts work.
I want to share a little more about iAM Compliant, why we’re so excited to be joining forces and what this could mean for schools and trusts in the future.
Who is iAM Compliant?
iAM Compliant is one of the sector’s leading estates management and compliance platforms, supporting more than 3,500 schools.
Founder Luke Pargeter created iAM Compliant after spending several years providing outsourced facilities management services into schools. That experience gave him a deep understanding of the challenges estates and site teams face every day – and inspired him to build a better way to keep school buildings safe, compliant and fit for learning.
Today, iAM Compliant combines that first-hand experience with decades of estates and safety expertise.
At The Key, we've long believed that no single piece of guidance or platform can, on its own, solve the challenges schools face. iAM Compliant shares that belief: making a real difference to how schools work means bringing together the right technology, expertise and training. That thinking is reflected in what they’ve built – alongside the platform, a catalogue of over 500 training courses helps school and trust staff develop the knowledge and confidence they need to keep their sites safe and compliant.
Why do schools and trusts love iAM Compliant?
Managing a school estate is a huge responsibility requiring specialist knowledge. Teams need to keep pupils, staff and visitors safe while staying up-to-date with rising expectations, whether that’s long-standing health and safety duties or the DfE’s estate management standards. They’re balancing this alongside staying audit ready and managing significant assets – often while facing tight budgets and limited time. For trusts managing multiple sites, that challenge becomes even greater.
iAM Compliant was built specifically for the people doing this job and the unique challenges they face. Rather than expecting site and school business managers to interpret complex guidance and build their own processes, the platform comes ready to use – turning requirements into clear, practical actions.
It gives estates and premises teams one place to manage it all with confidence. They can see what needs to be checked and when, understand what they can manage themselves and where specialist support is needed, and keep a clear evidence trail of the work that’s been done. Where statutory guidance applies, iAM Compliant translates it into simple terms so teams understand what it means for them and what they need to do.
It also supports schools and trusts with wider areas of compliance, including training, incident management and risk management.
Why did we want to bring iAM Compliant into The Key?
Because we think there’s a huge opportunity to make estate management simpler, smarter and more manageable for schools and trusts.
Many schools still rely on spreadsheets, paper records and other DIY processes to manage their estates. These approaches create significant administrative work without necessarily giving leaders the visibility and confidence they need – and can lead to schools paying external contractors for work their own teams are qualified to carry out. By making it clear what can be managed in-house and where a specialist is required, iAM Compliant can help schools use their estates budgets more effectively while remaining confident they’re meeting their statutory obligations.
And expectations are only growing. The DfE’s School Estate Management Standards set out a clear picture of what good estate management looks like, and this autumn trusts, local authorities and some governing boards are completing their first annual return against them. Being able to show you have a clear view of your estate, and a consistent approach to looking after it, is now a more visible part of the job. With trusts managing larger, increasingly ageing estates, spreadsheets and paper records won’t keep pace. Schools and trusts need a better way.
iAM Compliant has already built it.
The team brings together an outstanding platform with deep expertise in the realities of managing school estates. That combination of technology, sector knowledge and a genuine understanding of the jobs our customers need to do makes iAM Compliant a natural fit for The Key.
Our ambition is to transform the way schools and trusts work – giving them better tools to tackle complex, high-stakes jobs with greater confidence and less admin. Bringing iAM Compliant into the group means we can extend that ambition into estates, combining our strengths to do even more for schools and trusts in an area where the stakes are incredibly high.
What happens next?
iAM Compliant will continue as the platform its customers know and value today, and schools and trusts will be able to choose it alongside other products from across The Key, like they currently do with GovernorHub and Robin.
As we look forward, we’re really excited about what is possible as we work together. Watch this space!
A huge welcome to the iAM Compliant team!
