Management Accountant

The role


We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our growing Financial Control team. This is a hybrid role created to complement our existing Finance team as the business continues to expand and will include month end management reporting responsibilities as well as continuous process improvement and optimisation focusing on Cost assurance specifically.  


Responsibilities

 

  • Create and own monthly cost reporting by supplier, GL code and legal entity against budget
  • P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis
  • Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
  • Complete cost reviews to ensure the amount we are charged is accurate and appropriate
  • Investigate any discrepancies or future plans with the FP&A teams and Purchasing teams as appropriate
  • Work with Purchasing team to create reliable cash forecasts
  • Raise monthly intercompany recharges across the Group

 

Efficiencies

 

  • Bringing in other subsidiaries & future acquisitions to existing processes
  • Identifying & implementing group efficiencies wherever possible
  • Calling out system improvements and supporting with ad hoc duties to fit business needs

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

 

Essential

 

  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience and/or desire to work at a fast growing, but young business
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Excel experience at an intermediate level
  • Experience of working to deadlines and with non-financial managers
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks
  • Can do attitude and a willingness to be hands on
  • Ability to present information in a concise and professional manner
  • Must be comfortable working with a high degree of change and ambiguity
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload in a fast-moving environment

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience of working with NetSuite 
  • Experience in technology and/or a SaaS business

The role

We are looking for an Enterprise Systems Engineer to join our Systems team. You will work on designing, implementing and maintaining large-scale software systems within our business with a focus on the Salesforce platform. 

You will: 

  • Deploy, customise and maintain off-the-shelf systems – particularly Salesforce CRM and CPQ using a variety of Salesforce technologies including Apex, Lightning Web Components and Flows.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain in-house systems using Python/Django.
  • Enhance, and troubleshoot other common enterprise solutions such as Zuora, Netsuite, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Collaborate with teams throughout the group to assess, recommend and implement solutions that support operational needs in a productive and  scalable manner.
  • Develop the Systems team’s “way of working” encompassing the application of software engineering best practices, Agile/scrum methodologies, DevOps and CI/CD capabilities.
  • Advocate for compatibility between technologies and data definitions used across the group to ensure comprehensive and accurate access to information
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with peer teams and colleagues.

The ideal person 

Essentials

  • 3+ years working with enterprise System software, of which minimum 1 year working with the Salesforce platform.
  • Masters or degree in a technology related subject
  • Experience of developing software using Python and, ideally other, software languages
  • Delivery focused with a demonstrable track record of successful solution implementation
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to balance technical and commercial considerations
  • Excellent communications and organisational skills with the flexibility to adapt plans when required

Nice to haves 

  • Project management skills with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience of the EdTech sector either in a School, Local Authority or commercial environment
  • Prior experience working with software engineering best practice, Agile, Scrum, DevOps
  • Prior experience with any of our other core core technology platforms and tools is a plus:

The role
 

We are looking for a senior credit controller to join our friendly group finance team to support the management of cash collection across the groupYou will take the lead in developing and implementing strategies and processes to support predictable cash collection within our standard payment terms.  Using your expert knowledge of our products and services and your natural tenacity, you will resolve payment and invoice queries to expedite settlement of debts.
 

You will have responsibility of:
 

  • Tactically  monitoring and collecting payments by contacting members on a daily basis via phone and email
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with both internal colleagues and our members
  • Timely and effective collection of member’s debts
  • Resolving members  financial queries as they arise
  • Processing credit card payments
  • Keeping excellent customer records electronically
  • Responding to finance enquiries in Zendesk in a timely and professional manner
  • Reconciling daily receipts to accounting systems
  • Managing daily cheque reconciliation
  • Keeping members accounts up to date, reconciled and accurate
  • Supporting colleagues with their ledgers during peak period or absence
  • Continuously looking for ways to improve processes
  • Support relevant systems implementations
     

The ideal person
 

  • 2 - 3 years credit control experience (with focus on outbound calls of at least 50 calls a day).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills 
  • Persuasive, tenacious style
  • Excel skills - formulas, vlookups & pivot tables
  • Self starter, happy to work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail

Nice to haves: 
 

  • Experience in a subscription business
  • Interest / experience in the education sector or public sector
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace
  • Experience using Zendesk
