What are the most effective recent government initiatives in education?
This article was written in response to a question from a deputy headteacher at a medium-size urban primary school in the east of England.
A number of initiatives have been introduced very recently, such as the new National Curriculum, the new special educational needs (SEN) code of practice and performance-related pay for teachers.
